We all know how we feel a little bad about indulging. Wanting an extra serving of dessert or spending an extra hour in bed or binge watching a show count as our guilty pleasures. But if we truly enjoy them, then why must we feel guilty about gratifying? Allowing oneself certain guilty pleasures brings out our inner child, engaged in mischief and then amused by it. Rather than denying guilt’s involvement in our enjoyment and turning a blind eye, what if we approach it with eyes wide open, generating genuine curiosity about what makes us happy?
